Verbaan Build

Company History

In 1975, at the foothills of the Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal, Verbaan Builders (Pty) Ltd was formed. The company was established by Frank Verbaan and his father Dan Verbaan, who, in 1966 was one of the founding members of the renowned Hulson, Morgan and Verbaan. In 1981 the company moved from Underberg to the Natal North Coast and the company´s name was changed to Verbaan Construction (Pty) Ltd. Between 1981 and 1996, Verbaan Construction (Pty) Ltd doubled its turnover annually and in 1996 saw the company’s turnover top R36-million. Focus during the years as Verbaan Construction (Pty) Ltd was primarily on commercial projects in the form of schools, factories, hospitals and shopping centres, with a small number of residential units having been completed.

F Verbaan Builders cc was formed in 2002 by Frank Verbaan. Initially, dictated by market demand the company took on the role primarily as a house builder in the Upper Highway area, having built units in developments such as Kirtlington, Plantations, Langford Estate, Le Domaine and Cotswold Downs as well as a number of privately built houses and units in and around the area.

Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio to include large scale commercial and industrial projects as well as small specialised civil work. Over the past decade the company has grown from strength to strength and tripled its turnover as well as increased it´s infrastructure to accommodate larger scale contracts.

In 2012, F.Verbaan Builders cc underwent some restructuring which included a name change and a conversion to a (Pty) Ltd, now known as F Verbaan Construction (Pty) Ltd.

As a medium sized company we feel our core strength lies in the commercial and industrial projects and small civil works with less focus on residential developments. We consider ourselves a dynamic, flexible and well-rounded enterprise that can grow to meet future demands.
